ID Released For Woman Killed After Being Struck By Car At Long Island Intersection

The identity has been released of a woman who was killed after being hit by a car at a Long Island intersection.

The crash happened at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024 at approximately 6:30 a.m., in West Babylon.

The woman was crossing Route 109 when she was struck by a southbound 2009 Nissan Altima at the intersection of Old Farmingdale Road, Suffolk County Police said.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. 

On Tuesday night, Nov. 12, police identified the victim as Laura Bowman, age 71, of West Babylon.

The driver of the Altima, a 23-year-old West Babylon woman, was not injured.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
